Mom’s Lessons

We all know that moms are inately teachers…. As I’m talking up my book , trying to get followers, purchasers and fans…I’m realizing even more that is what my book is really about!

To Show You That I Love You is a children’s picture book that is about all of the lessons a mom teaches their children to help them go off on their own and be successful (Hoo-RAY!)

This could be you seeing them off to Kindergarten, maybe going to a new school, starting a new activity or even helping them move off to college (just because they age doesn’t mean we do, right? lol).

The day that I dropped Nora, my youngest of three off at Kindergarten, I sat in my car crying…found a napkin and jotted down this book.

All while she was running off to meet her new friends and amazing teacher…without little ol’ me.

Now when I think about the book’s lesson from the other side, I’m remembering that I have been able to instill these lessons in all of my kids because of the example my mom set for me! (Yay Mom!!!)

In life….

Mistakes happen… You pick yourself up, try again- learning from it.

Sadness you will endure… You find distractions (happy ones!) that will make you smile again.

Hearts will break… Helps you to see that it is just another lesson learned in finding the “right” one.

Rejection or failure… Will guide you to a new, more purposeful path.

All in all, it’s very close to Mother’s Day. Some of us know exactly what to give our fabulous moms, while others don’t. After writing this book, I clearly see that the most important gift is telling them that they showed YOU that they cared…And, those three. simple. words.
